Legs that are worthy of wolf whistles

According to my sources (good old BBC Weather), we are finally in for a  sunny week.  And so ladies, it's time.  Get those pins out but PLEASE make sure they're presentable....

The Shape

There are moves you can make to get better legs.  Personal trainer and fitness guru Jonny Sayle of Spire Life has trained everyone from top England sportsmen to some of the UK's most wealthy people.  Not that this has gone to his head, he's also seen up at the crack of dawn, whatever the weather, with scores of girls lunging on Parsons Green.  Here are his top tips:

The Standing Calf Raise
'Position your toes and the balls of your feet on a step with the arches and heels hanging off the back.  Place your hands on support for balance and slowly push up on the balls of your feet. You can feel the calves working to the maximum.  Then slowly lower the heels so your feet are flat again.  Do 4 sets of 15 repetitions for a killershape to your calf muscles.'

The Reverse Lunge
'This excerise makes most of your lower body work, and is the best exercise to hone and tone the legs.  Stand with feet together and plant one foot behind you, far back with a  slightly bent knee.  Lower the body until the back knee is almost in contact with the floor. You will be creating the normal lunge shape, only stepping backwards instead of the traditional move of lunging forward.  Return to the original standing position.  Repeat this movement, alternating legs for 4 sets of 20 repetitions.'

Jonny works his clients hard and gets results, his warmth and humour makes the process  totally pleasurable, plus he's easy on the eyes (bonus!)

The Colour

Everyone wants bronzed legs.  Fact.  They look healthy, slender, and as if you've returned from a fortnight drifting on a glamorous yacht somewhere.  Where as, in reality, you've probably just been giving them some TLC in your bathroom.  Leighton Denny is known in the industry as one of the Nail Gods, but he also has his own tan range Sun-Beliveable.  Here is the step by step guide to amazonian chic:

- Post hair removal, gently scrub dry legs with the Sun-Believeable Scrub Me Body Exfoliator and wash off.  Diamond, pearl, turquoise and opal proteins leave the skin feeling super smooth.

- Next, evenly slather on the velvety, rich Sun-Believeable Cream Me Body Moisturiser.  This will lock in the colour, hydrate the skin and pro-long the tan.  The moisture will also help to prep the ankles, knees and toes where fake tan usually clings.

- The prep is done, now time for the colour.  The Sun-Believeable Tan Me Self Tanning Mousse is fluffy and light, and glides on easily.  A mitt is always best (use Sun-Believeable's Discover Me Application Mitt) and the clever formula and ingrediants reduce streaking and slow down the fading process.
Take your time!  The more meticulous your technique, the more natural your legs will look and NOTHING is as unsightly as fake tan marks.  After 2-4 hours your tan will have developed to produce a bespoke colour that suits your skin tone.

The Detail

A smart pedicure is the final flourish.  Having clipped and filed, soak your feet for 5 minutes in warm, soapy water to make cuticles soft, and push them gently back.  Pick a dazzling summer bright to put you in the mood for sun making sure you don't forget base and top coat.  I'm OBSESSED with the following (depending on my bank balance):

Save

Barry M

Spend

Essie

Splurge

 Chanel

And volia, suddenly those short shorts look far less scary.
