7 Day Hair

I'm setting readers a challenge.  A challenge which I'll admit I may not be able to complete.  I'm a little set in my hair ways.  7 days, 7 styles.  Here's some inspiration to get you going....

Top Knot

Small and neat.

Big and dishevelled.  Use a doughnut (or a sock!) to make it mega.

Centre parting, 60's style.

Low Bun

Messy and gorgeous.

Backcomb the crown and let whisps escape.

Sweep everything to the side and keep it really tidy.

Side Plait

Beautifully loose.

Use volumising mouse and back comb the lengths, plait and then run
your fingers roughly up the plait to get your hair looking like this.

Tie with a 'snag' band for a low maintenance look and let bits escape.

Heidi Plait

Prim yet undone.

Thick hair is best to get plaits this chunky.  If you have thin hair, rough it up and backcomb before plaiting.

Keeping it serene.

Method - this one takes a little more work BUT is so much easier than it looks.  Part your hair centrally from forehead to the nape of the neck and plait two pig tails starting from around the ears.  Secure with small 'snag' bands.  Simply lift and wrap one round the head to meet the other ear, and repeat with the other plait.
Then tuck in the ends underneath the lengths of the plaits and secure with kirby grips.  Let bits escape.  It's gorgeous when a little mussed up.

Messy Pony

Hair grabbed high and tied.

Low with Summery mini plaits for a beach look.

Wonderfully glossy and smooth at the top.  Secure and pull up at the crown to achieve this.

Big

Pure. Sex.  Rollers, tongs, combing haphazardly, sweeping over one eye.

Thick and full of body.  Best not to brush it for a few days!

Calmer, but still full.  Massage the scalp vigourously with hair that is not squeaky clean.
Spritz with spray and scrunch a little.

Adorned

Child like, badly tied and heavenly.

Flower bands are fantastic for festivals and Summer parties but must be worn with messy hair for the required Midsummer Nights Dream look.

A classic silk scarf.  Tied at the top in a chunky, casual knot or looped at
the forehead and tied at the neck like above.  Eternally chic.

Let me know how it goes xxx

Cuffed

When I was about 14 or 15, there were three types of girl at school.  One who had pierced ears (this girl was acceptable), one without pierced ears (basically the equivalent of social suicide, she was probably very good at maths), and one who laughed in the face of the all girl, convent rules and got that extra, all important, upper ear piercing.  Or two.  Or three.  These were the girls who usually smoked and/or knew a lot of boys.  That upper ear thing always makes me think back to that time, before we merged with the neighbouring boys school (that was a good year), and the gaggle of girls who were untouchable.

And so, to sport this trend with aplomb one should probably adopt the persona of a bad girl.  Lots of black, tonnes of eyeliner - again, much like school, if you didn't own a Bourjois kohl and circle the inside and outside of your eye like 30 times a day, you were a nobody - and plenty of attitude.  A la Cara.  Our it girl of right now.

Or Rhianna, with her undercut as seen below - oh my god, she would have known, 'like', so many boys.

But what we're also seeing is these fierce cuffs gracing the likes of the pretty sweet type.  Emma Watson?  She never had a detention in her life.  And why can she pull them off?  Because hers are ludicrously sparkly rather than 'I got these cuffs in Camden'.  And why is she wearing them?  Because she's shaking off her good girl wizard thing.

Sienna?  Well she can channel both the good girl and the bad as seen below.  We know she smoked like a trouper, swore like a sailor and got around a bit.  But, oh, she's just SO damn pretty.

To try the trend, sweep your hair back as Diane Kruger has done.  A savvy little top knot and multiple cuffs. Simple yet brilliant.

But the star of this show has got to be Edie Campbell.  An effortless pony, minimal makeup, prim little shirt and one HELL of an example of pure ear BLING.  Fabulous.

The best place to buy, I have found, is ASOS and here are my pick of the best:

Instagram Diary

It's happened.  I'm in.  The new flat is up and running, an obligatory Ikea trip was made and internet has just been installed.  So the blogging silence is over and for those of you who don't follow me on Instagram here are a few things I've been snapping whilst I've been away.

Some of my 'homeless' nights last month were spent at my
best friends flat in Marylebone (yeah, I really roughed it whilst looking for my new place)
and these are two of the gorgeous sights I encountered whilst walking to the tube.

Work has been frantic on Team Fashion, and over on the Beauty Team there have
been delightful deliveries aplenty including the new Barry M Gelly nail paints in the high Summer hues.

One of the hottest shades 'Guava' is modelled by Lizzie.  Buy here

6.30am arrival at the W Hotel, 55 boxes to unpack, 92 lovely journalists to chat to,
55 boxes to pack up, 4 well deserved cocktails - yep it's press day time again.

Lots of lovely tartan from glamorous.com

Kangol's premium Autumn Winter hats - sensational.

The delectable W Hotel canapes - eton mess shots and mini eccles cakes.  Divine.

A favourite coat from the Glamorous collection.

Everyone swooned over this oh-so-cute tartan pinafore playsuit.

Sports deluxe was a dominant theme.  Loving this dress.

Animal skin-look shorts.

One of the most lusted after items - the quilted navy bomber.  Bring on September!!

The hotel staff gave us slippers to relieve our feet at the end of a long day.  Bliss.

Next up, a weekend in the country where I stayed at my friends farm.
I mean, who doesn't have a couple of peacocks in their garden??

A lovely day visiting one of the Queen's homes.  A bit of new flat inspiration!

From the glorious countryside, to the elegant location that is Wembley Ikea.
I am a MASSIVE interiors geek at the moment so I was on a constant high as I wondered round the showrooms.  I couldn't resist the above when I got to the stationery section.

My new cushions.  My pride and joy.
Sat on top of the couch that I made a little tipsy after Friday night drinks.
Buy the cushions here and here
