Street View

The weather's getting worse and the more it rains the easier it is to get a little sloppy.  And so I turn to the streets for some style inspiration.  This is when I like our icons the most - a little more haphazard.  Like any fashion freak I anticipate awards season and dream of couture but day wear is something us mere mortals can emulate much more regularly.  They say 'Always dress like you're going to meet your worst enemy'  (I don't know who 'they' are but obviously we're not talking the literary greats here, it was probably someone at Cosmo) and these women are well and truly ready for a fashion fight.

Fur and leather.  Timelessly fierce.

If you don't have a parka invest in one with a great quality faux fur (or fur if you're that way inclined) collar.  It will give an effortlessly cool edge to any outfit under any weather condition.

Olivia's always immaculate.  If anything this girl has taught us to groom, groom, GROOM.

Perfection - leather skirt, sloppy jumper in always-heavenly grey, a big grab bag in leopard print and a splash of pink lipstick and nail varnish.  Faultless and so brilliantly easy on anyone's budget.

The queen's of bohemian street wear layering.  Watch and learn.

Another Alexa classic.
More grey, blahhh jeans tied together with cat eye sunglasses and a velvet slipper.

Cara - the girl de jour.  Hair and makeup shows us this is post show/shoot but she is always seriously championing 'I don't give a shit' streetwear.  As a consequence, the fashion world is obsessed.

More monochrome lifted with a pop of plaid.

Elin Kling - 'Super Blogger'.
Skinnies mixed with what looks like boyfriend's polo mixed with killer heels.  So simple.  So HOT.

I love this.  A boxy statement knit with a clashing statement bag.  Big sunnies, nails and neon phone.  Street wear is about being bold, fearless and going for it.
If it doesn't work out you can go back to black the next day

Elin again, and more layering.  Yes it's annoying, she can wear anything.

Black + shearling + mini Chanel.  Nothing special, and yet....

Pinafores and dungarees are huge for SS13.
I love that school girl vibe and Liv teams it with a random top and most importantly, flats.

More school girl chic.  This time from Alicia Waite of Elleuk.com.
Pure prep with netball skirt, varsity top, converse and geek glasses.

There are so many things I love about this look.  All basic fabrics are used - denim, leather, khaki.  But then you look down and underneath those cute little turn ups, purple socks and leopard print platforms.    Genius. (Yeah, not actual genius, but outfit/silly genius.)

If in doubt, wrap yourself in oversized fur.

All black and leopard print.

Here, Olivia flies the high street flag with a jumper from Espirit, given some serious style credentials with the help of leather, fur, killer boots and Hermes.

One of my favourites.
Keira throws a big baggy jumper over something short and flirty, throws a coat on and hits the streets.

Hope this has given you some ideas for the week xxx
