London Collections: Men returned this week, sprinkling beautiful little men all over our beautiful little capital. Fashion girls took to twitter with glee to report sightings of eye candy on the tube, on Saville Row, on the catwalks....
Tearing our eyes away from the models and focusing on the actual collections, we saw three days of dapper dandies in outstanding Autumnal outdoorsy wear. From matching jumpers, scarves and bobble hats at Richard James, to the perfect parkas (LOVED the map print) at Christopher Raeburn, everyone was up for a bit of outdoor adventure. I MAY have mentioned before, I love a man dressed for the cold and for me, Topman Design nailed outerwear. The explorer theme was depicted in a rainbow of hues from arctic white through to midnight blue via bright orange, lemon yellow, scarlet and oxblood, and glorious putty beige. Pea coats and parkas were worn loose and oversized with massively exaggerated collars and hoods. Trousers were slouchy and hiking boots were menacingly mammoth. It seems bigger really is better, boys. Ever present was the faithful beanie with some guest appearances from the backpack and...is that lurex knitwear I spy? Genius. A truly brilliant show and best of all, accessible. Confession - I would wrap myself in that red parka right now.
