Blooming

Tara Starlet's range of vintage shorts are just so damn pretty.  Reminiscent of Mad Men and off duty 50's Hollywood bombshells, these shorts can look as nostalgic as you like, or you can bring them bang up to date.  I'd wear with a slouchy light weight jumper or a tucked in T, bronzed legs and flats.  And I like to think I'd also be carrying Americana brown paper grocery bags and bouquets of blousey flowers.  See more of the retro range here

Namesake

Well, the day has finally come.  And a lot earlier than expected.  Like Grace Kelly was honoured by Hermes in the shape of a best selling bag, and Sarah Jessica Parker inspired Manolo Blahnik's SJP shoe, I actually have a jacket named after me!  My client, the uber fashionable and uber purse friendly Glamorous called today to tell me that a key piece had just dropped online and that said piece was christened Charlotte, just for little old me.  I felt almost...giddy.

The blazer is beautifully cut and literally blossoming.  Florals, and prints in general, are huge for the season and the way to make a statement.  It looks fabulous with the sleeves pushed up and thrown on over a white vest and black skinnies.  Get her before she goes!

I Love Leopard Print

Gone are the opaques for today, and on go the skinny jeans and heels.  Rolled up to reveal a bit of ankle, this length of jeans looks so much more modern and slick than full length.

Then, the star of the show, are my BARGAIN £8 suede leopard print courts from PrimarkPrimark shopping is only bearable at opening time when you're one of five shoppers in the store.  Every once in a while, much to the horror of housemates I jump out of bed on a Saturday, get on the bus to Marble Arch and am there by 8.30am to seek bargains (never attempt without a Starbucks).  You have to ignore 90% of the store but then you unearth one or two treasures like one friend's oversized leather clutch with gold studs for £2 or another's leather black shift dress for £20.

Marble Arch, Kingston, Liverpool, Nottingham and Manchester branches are some of the best in my experience.

Teamed with my new cream Topshop jumper (to be revealed in an upcoming post,) and a grecian gold necklace.

Seeing Red

Today, two colleagues came into the office in the same jeans.  A fashion faux pas I hear you say?  But when the jeans are as good as these I'm not sure it matters.  Slim cut, saturated scarlet, perfectly cropped and the gold ankle zips are the pièce de résistance.  The fact that both girls are accessorizing with animal print ballet pumps is also a coincidence.

The jeans are Zara from last year, but this similar style is available here

For the perfect (indulgent) ballet pump, there is no other option than French Sole.  The boutiques are dotted around but my favourite is tucked away on Ellis Street, off the Kings Road.  A shoe for me HAS to have toe cleavage and French Sole specialises in a plethora of styles with different levels of 'toe exposure'.  For the most sinful of toe flashing opt for the Harriet.  These ones are leopard print pony hair and are TO. DIE. FOR.  Available here, with cheaper options at Next, New Look and on ASOS.

Street Walking

Sometimes you have to forget the catwalk and look to the streets...
