The September Issue

'September is the January of fashion'
Candy Pratts Price, Executive Fashion Director of American Vogue

The September Issue documents the creation of US Vogue's biggest issue to date under the withering glare of Anna Wintour.  But undoubtedly the star of the show was the awe-inspiring stylist Grace Coddington.  Viewers watched in horror as Wintour scrapped Coddington's incredible shots from the final edit.  My favourite still from the film is this concoction of Grace's imagination, and since 2009 I have searched for such a scarf.

Two were bought in consecutive winters but neither turned out to satisfy.  They didn't have the over exaggerated chunky texture nor the vivid, saturated orange.  But last month a Christmas miracle occurred at COS and I indulged on the spot.  Not as scarily huge as the above, but what feels like acres of vast, spun, tangerine wool.

It's still online (click here) and in store, at sale price.  Team with grey à la Coddington, but leave the gargantuan yeti coat to the models.
